BECK to open for NEIL YOUNG. CDNOW's Allstar reports that BECK will be warming up audiences with acoustic sets for NEIL YOUNG on at least four of YOUNG's tour dates this fall. Look for him on September 25 in Chula Vista, California, on September 27 in Santa Barbara, California, on September 30 in Portland, Oregon, and on October 1 in Vancouver. Sheryl Crow is slated to open several other NEIL YOUNG performances.


BT and HOOVERPHONIC launch fall tour. According to Live Daily, the two electronica acts will be on the road in North America from September 28 in Austin, Texas until November 6 in Vancouver. BT is supporting his latest album Movement in Still Life, which features the single "Never Gonna Come Back Down."

It's OZZY Day! No school! Students at Plumas Elementary School just outside Sacramento, California got the day off last week in honor of one of our nation's great leaders: OZZY. Well, not exactly. Rolling Stone reports that the kiddies were given the day off because OZZFEST was coming through town and it would be unsafe for them to attend school with all the traffic and associated fanfare.
