PEARL JAM denies guilt in Roskilde deaths. According to CDNOW's Allstar, Seattle rockers PEARL JAM do not consider themselves responsible for the deaths of nine concert-goers at the recent rock festival, Roskilde 2000, in Denmark. A July 19 Danish police investigation report placed blame on the band, but PEARL JAM spokespersons have stated that "PEARL JAM [is] well known for their exciting live shows, but they have never, in their 10 year history of performing, 'appealed for violent behavior.'" PEARL JAM kicks off their North American tour August 3.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' greatest hits. Rolling Stone reports that a new greatest hits album is due out from STONE TEMPLE PILOTS in October. The album, currently titled Big Bang Babies, is set to include twelve of the band's hits and four new tracks.

More RAGE and BEASTIES. The "Rhyme & Reason 2000" tour, featuring RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and BEASTIE BOYS, has added tour dates, says MTV. The tour kicks off August 2 in Toronto and now continues on with four extra dates. Look for new concert stops in late August and early Septmber in Tampa, New Orleans, Dallas, and San Antonio.
