Calm down, FIONA! Ms. Apple basically freaked out on stage during a February performance at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, mumbling, cursing, and ultimately leaving the stage crying. According to CDNOW's allstar, this is the third such outburst, which Fiona blamed on bad sound quality during the show. CDNOW also reports that David Byrne of the Talking Heads was in the audience that night.

SOCIAL DISTORTION guitarist Dennis Danell dead. Sonicnet reports that the 38-year-old guitarist for the punk outfit Social Distortion passed away February 29. The death was attributed to an apparent brain aneurysm.

SANTANA's super Supernatural sales. Since his big win at the Grammys (nine awards), Santana's latest album is enjoying its biggest sales since its release 37 weeks ago. Rolling Stone reports that Santana sold 583,000 copies last week, following the awards show.
