Lollapalooza 2000? Launch reports that the William Morris Agency is putting together a Lollapalooza tour for this summer. The eclectic music fest that featured rock, rap, and forums for everything from politics to hacky sack is back after three years of MIA status. No word yet on the lineup.

311 on the road with Jimmie's Chicken Shack.  311 announced they will add more tour dates to their North American rounds. They will be adding new shows with Jimmie's Chicken Shack as their opening act, beginning with a February 21 stop in Raleigh, North Carolina, and ending in Vail, Colorado, March 29. According to MTV News, 311 will also perform at the 2000 Sega National Finals Competition in Las Vegas, February 4.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are named favorite alternative act. Welcome to award show season. Monday, January 17, the American Music Awards honored the Red Hot Chili Peppers as Favorite Artist in the Alternative Music category. Also, Santana's Supernatural took home the award for Favorite Album in Pop Rock.
